Sustainable Travel
At Cricklade Leisure Centre, we’re committed to reducing car journeys to our centre. Fewer cars mean cleaner air, quieter surroundings for local residents, and a safer environment for wildlife. While we know not everyone can get here without a car, there are plenty of ways you can help make your journey greener:
Walk or Cycle
-
- Bike racks are available outside the front entrance for bicycles and scooters.
- Prams and buggies can be left safely under the covered porch area if you’re walking with children.
Public Transport
-
- Reach us via bus from Swindon and Cirencester (routes 51 and 53).
- Route 53 also stops at Purton and Lydiard.
- The Bishopsfield stop in Cricklade is closest to the centre (not all buses stop here) or the Turning Circle is a 10-minute walk away.
On-Site Refreshments
-
- Free water is available at reception – bring a reusable bottle to refill.
- Our café upstairs serves cold drinks and light bites to fuel your journey home.
Car Sharing & Greener Vehicles
-
- Car share with friends or neighbours for swimming lessons, fitness classes, and kids’ clubs.
- Switching to an electric vehicle? We have eight dedicated recharging points at the rear of the building.
We appreciate your support in making the centre greener. If you have ideas for improving transport or access, please email admin@crickladeleisure.co.uk or leave a comment at reception.
